Safend Expands Endpoint Information Leakage Prevention Features
Safend, an international provider of information leakage prevention (ILP) solutions for enterprise endpoints, has announced that it has been accepted into the SanDisk® Enterprise Solutions Technology Alliance (SESTA).
SESTA, a newly launched initiative from SanDisk, offers members the opportunity to test the compatibility of their products with secure portable solutions from SanDisk, a leader in personal storage devices.
"We are delighted to welcome Safend to the SESTA program," said Ella Taran Katz, senior manager for business development in the Enterprise Division at SanDisk. "Safend's potential partners and customers now have the confidence of knowing that Safend's solutions have been tested for compatibility with SanDisk products, so they won't have to worry about the risk of interoperability issues."
Safend's ILP solutions secure confidential data by controlling the physical and wireless communication ports of an organization's PCs and laptops. Safend Protector and Safend Auditor provide IT managers with the tools to seamlessly monitor and enforce established information security policies while allowing the use of productivity-enhancing technology such as USB, removable media, and wireless capabilities.
As an early member of the SESTA program, Safend has tested the compatibility of Safend Auditor and Safend Protector with SanDisk enterprise products. SESTA testing guidelines target drive interoperability, the ability of Safend's products to recognize and initialize SanDisk devices, as well as login capabilities, and drive functionality. Assessments are completed in either Windows XP SP2, Windows 2000 SP4, Windows 2003 server SP1 (only for S2), or Windows Vista Enterprise Edition. As a member of SESTA, Safend will continually evaluate its solutions' compatibility with SanDisk's secure storage devices.
"The proliferation of unsecured removable storage devices continues to be a major security hurdle for corporate IT managers," said Susan Callahan, vice president of marketing and business development for Safend. "Joining SESTA is one more way that we can demonstrate our commitment to providing a fully interoperable, secure and seamless data protection platform."
SanDisk's flagship secure device is the Cruzer® Enterprise high-speed USB flash drive with mandatory password protection and 256-bit AES hardware-based encryption.
